With finally being able to do in-person programming, UB participated in some really cool activities! We started the October month of activities off with a trip to Camp Tecumseh. Our students enjoyed team building, rock climbing & ending the night by the camp fire with s’mores!
Our next event was the Iibada Dance Company Experience. Our students really enjoyed watching artistic and cultural performances.
We then made our way to Muncie, IN to visit Ball State University. We toured the campus, saw the dorms, engaged in an admissions presentation, and enjoyed the on-campus array of dining options such as Chick-fil-A and Papa John’s.
Our October cultural dinner was at La Chela. It is a Mexican restaurant owned by the family of one of our alumni! Our students tried different foods and experienced some Hispanic culture.
After our Academic Themed Saturday this month, UB students carved pumpkins and enjoyed candy. This has become a tradition for Upward Bound, and the students seem to enjoy it every year!
