Ernest Evans serves as the new director of the IUPUI Upward Bound Program. Ernest was born in Muncie, IN and raised in Indianapolis, IN. He is an alumnus of IUPUI, receiving his bachelor's degree in sociology in 2012, and his master's from IU Bloomington in higher education and student affairs. He is a fifth-year doctoral student at Howard University working towards his Ph.D. in Higher Education Leadership and Policy Studies. His dissertation focuses on discussing the role that race and gender play in the professional identity development of Black male student affairs professionals.
Ernest loves spending time with his family and catching up on television when he isn't working on his dissertation. Ernest is a proud alumnus of the IUPUI Upward Bound Program and IUPUI Student Support Services. He is excited to return home to IUPUI!
